“Pandurang Mauli, Tukaram Mauli” Resounds as Twin Palkhi Pays Homage at Sadhu Vaswani Mission

The timeless chants of the Warkaris reached the Mission as a group of Warkaris from the Sacred Twin Palkhi Procession visited Sadhu Vaswani Mission, Pune, on the third day of their sacred pilgrimage to Pandharpur.

Continuing a cherished tradition, the Warkaris first offered prayers at the Sacred Samadhis of Sadhu Vaswani and Dada J.P. Vaswani, singing soulful abhangas and bhajans. The pilgrims then proceeded to the Sacred Kutiya, where they were warmly received by Didi Krishna. Didi joined the Warkaris in singing the beloved abhang, “Vitthal Majha, Mi Vitthalacha”, filling the Kutiya with the spirit of the Wari.

For many of the pilgrims, the halt at the Mission has become an integral part of their annual journey. Speaking on behalf of the Dindi (group), Nitin said, “Saints who lived for humanity, such as Sant Dnyaneshwar and Dada J.P. Vaswani, shared a common vision of bringing peace and contentment into people’s lives. The Wari too aims at carrying forward the teachings of saints.”

The Mission served the Warkaris fasting refreshments, including chikki, wafers, bananas, and a refreshing drink. They were also given eco-friendly bags containing two mangoes each, towels, napkins, wafer packets, chikki packets, and chiwda packets.

Expressing his gratitude, Subhash, one of the Warkaris, said that the group felt deeply welcomed at the Mission. “Though our halt was brief, it gave our bodies much-needed rest. We now continue our journey to Pandharpur refreshed and rejuvenated,” he shared.

For generations, the Wari Procession has symbolised humility, devotion, equality, and collective spiritual endeavour. The annual visit of the Warkaris to Sadhu Vaswani Mission stands as a beautiful testament to the enduring bond between the Bhakti tradition of Maharashtra and the Mission’s timeless message of compassion, peace, and selfless service.
