ILLUMINATI 2024 INAUGURATED : A CONFLUENCE OF MEDICAL INNOVATION AND INSPIRATION

The halls of AFMC were abuzz with anticipation today as the oldest dedicated Undergraduate Medical conference, ‘Illuminati 2024’ was inaugurated by Lt Gen Narendra Kotwal, AVSM, SM, VSM, Director & Commandant, AFMC, Pune, marking the commencement of three days filled with exploration, collaboration, and innovation in the realm of medical research by the undergraduate students from all over the country.

In his opening address, Maj Gen Giriraj Singh, Dean and Deputy Commandant of AFMC, Pune, warmly welcomed the attendees, emphasizing the significance of this annual gathering in fostering dialogue and driving progress in medical research. “Illuminati has always been a beacon of excellence, a platform where ideas converge, and innovations take flight,” he said, setting the tone for the enlightening three days ahead.

Brig J Muthukrishnan, Sub Dean Clinical research reiterated that under the resplendent theme, “Ideas That Count: Inspire, Innovate, and Illuminate”, Illuminati 2024 opened its doors to a multitude of eager minds from across the medical spectrum.

The atmosphere was charged with excitement as distinguished guests, esteemed speakers, and passionate participants gathered to embark on this extraordinary journey of discovery.

The officer incharge of Students Scientific Society, Col Y Uday mentioned that a total of 564 outstation students from 36 medical colleges are presenting their scientific research as papers, posters, symposia, STEM talks. 881 students will be participating in 17 workshops held by 11 different departments of AFMC. The 5th Bn NDRF will showcase live drills in a simulated building collapse with chemical and radiation leak followed by demonstration of various equipment used in calamities. The event will be attended by more than 1000 student delegates and faculty members.

Keynote speakers, renowned experts in various medical domains, will share their insights and visions for the future of medicine. Their words will resonate deeply and inspire attendees to push the boundaries of knowledge and strive for transformative breakthroughs. For these three days, the attendees will be immersed in a plethora of activities, from engaging symposiums, hackathons, captivating scientific presentations to numerous hands-on workshops.
