Global Celebrations Honour Dada J.P. Vaswani’s Legacy of Forgiveness and Peace

Pune :  On August 2, the 108th Birth Anniversary of Dada J.P. Vaswani was observed worldwide as Global Forgiveness Day. Through week-long celebrations, people paid tribute to his enduring legacy. At 2 p.m., thousands joined the worldwide Moment of Calm, pausing for two minutes to reflect and forgive.

The celebrations at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission headquarters in Pune featured satsangs, bhajan-kirtan sessions, 108 havans, seva activities and cultural presentations. Inspiring discourses by the Mission’s Global Head, Didi Krishna Kumari, were among the highlights of the celebrations. At 2 p.m., marking Dada J.P. Vaswani’s birth hour, the gathering observed the Moment of Calm. Thousands across India and around the world joined the collective two-minute pause from wherever they were.

The Moment of Calm campaign, inspired by Dada J.P. Vaswani’s vision of creating a peaceful world, continued to spread his timeless message. This year’s campaign introduced the Peace Portal, a free digital platform offering guided two-minute Resets to help people let go of everyday emotions such as stress, anger and overthinking. Since its launch last month, the Portal has recorded over 10,000 individual Resets. Lakhs also participated in Group Reset Sessions across schools, colleges, workplaces and communities. More than 200 educational institutions, including HSNC University, organised Reset Sessions. Leading corporates also joined the initiative.

The campaign also gained international momentum through global partners and spiritual organisations. Sadhu Vaswani Mission centres worldwide joined the campaign. In a significant recognition of the movement, Governor Albert Bryan Jr. of the U.S. Virgin Islands officially proclaimed 2 August as Global Forgiveness Day.

Among the highlights of the week-long celebrations was a spirited Kirtan Jamming session by devotional artist Ankit Batra. His contemporary devotional music inspired enthusiastic participation from people of all ages. In her live discourse, Master Your Mind, Didi Krishna Kumari encouraged people to master their minds by staying anchored in higher values and gently bringing the mind back whenever it wanders.

One attendee described the evening as a “triple treat,” bringing together inspiring music, practical wisdom and the calming experience of the Peace Portal.

True to the Mission’s spirit that no celebration is complete without seva, several service activities were organised. An artificial limb distribution seva was organised. It benefited 25 recipients. Up to 50% concessions on various medical and laboratory tests were also provided.

Through music, meditation, technology and collective action, the 108th Birth Anniversary celebrations reaffirmed Dada J.P. Vaswani’s message that lasting peace begins with forgiveness.
