A Heartfelt Welcome to Warkaris at Punyadham Ashram
More than 600 devotees arrive
Punyadham Ashram was immersed in a deeply devotional and vibrant atmosphere for four memorable days as the Shri Vitthal Bhakt Warkari community, on their sacred annual pilgrimage to Pandharpur, halted at the Ashram.
As per tradition, the Warkaris were scheduled to arrive on 9th July and depart on 11th July. However, due to flooding in Alandi, they arrived at Punyadham Ashram earlier i.e. on 7th July, and stayed until the morning of 11th July.
The entire stay was lovingly organised by Shri Bharatsheth ji Darmawat and family, along with the Punyadham Ashram Pariwar. The Ashram resonated with the divine soulful bhajans, and energetic devotional dances, chanting ‘Jai Jai Ramkrishna Hari, and creating an atmosphere of spiritual joy.
Maa Krishna, Chairperson of Punyadham Ashram, Padma Bhushan Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, CA Shri Sadananda Shetty, President of Punyadham Ashram, the trustees, Dr. Parulekar and Shri Bharatsheth ji Darmawat and family warmly welcomed the Warkaris and ensured comfortable accommodation and wholesome meals throughout their stay.
More than 600 devotees and visitors gathered at the Ashram to witness and experience this extraordinary spiritual celebration. Before continuing their sacred journey to Pandharpur, the Warkaris were offered Solapuri chaddars, sarees for the women devotees, Upwas Chivda, Shengdana Laddoo packets, and towels as tokens of love and service.
The four days at Punyadham Ashram beautifully reflected the spirit of devotion, service, and togetherness that lies at the heart of the Wari tradition.
