Rajya Sabha MP Medha Kulkarni to receive the Sansad Ratna Award for the second consecutive year

Pune: Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, Prof. Dr. Medha Vishram Kulkarni, has been selected for the prestigious Sansad Ratna Award for the second consecutive year in recognition of her outstanding performance in Parliament. Along with Kulkarni, BJP MPs Hemant Savara and Smita Wagh, and Shiv Sena MPs Dr. Shrikant Shinde and Naresh Mhaske from Maharashtra have also been chosen for the award.

The awards are presented annually by the Prime Point Foundation to Members of Parliament for their exemplary contributions and active participation in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. This year marks the 16th edition of the awards.

Currently serving her first term in the Rajya Sabha, Kulkarni has actively participated in parliamentary proceedings and consistently raised issues related to public welfare and national interest. She has spoken on subjects including railways, women’s safety, healthcare, rural development, education, social justice, and corporate jihad-related concerns.

During the recent Parliament session, she raised matters concerning women’s safety, insurance security, rainwater harvesting, Aadhaar authentication, RTE admission processes, and agricultural land issues. She has also actively participated in Zero Hour discussions, Question Hour, and debates on various legislative matters.

Reacting to the announcement, Kulkarni said, “Receiving the Sansad Ratna Award for the second consecutive year is a matter of great honour. This recognition is not just mine, but of the efforts made to represent people’s concerns in Parliament effectively. The true identity of a public representative lies in meaningful action and active participation in democracy.”

The recognition is being seen as a matter of pride for Maharashtra and particularly for Pune, where Kulkarni has remained politically active for several years.
