“When women and youth are given freedom, they prove their capabilities” – Senior Congress Spokesperson Gopaldada Tiwari
Pune: Because of India’s democratic system and the nationalization of banks, India today stands as one of the developing nations. However, at the time of independence, the literacy rate in the country was very low. Over time, during Rajiv Gandhi’s tenure, the nation saw the rise of employment-oriented education and the computer and internet revolution, laying the foundation for Digital India. From this, it is evident that when women and youth are given freedom, they prove their worth, said senior Congress spokesperson Gopaldada Tiwari.
He was speaking on the occasion of the 8th anniversary celebration of N.M.D. Pvt. Ltd. and N.M.D. Infotech, which provide free computer and software skill training to farmers’ children. On this occasion, MLA Vikramsingh Pachpute, spokesperson of the Nationalist Congress Party Rupali Thombre Patil, Shroff Group’s Managing Director and Chairman J.P. Shroff, senior police officer P.I. Waghmare, NMD Group’s founder Navnath Mohan Darekar, Prashant Darekar and others were present.
Further speaking, Tiwari said, “Be it Colonel Sophia, who was part of the recently conducted Sindoor Operation, or a young man like Navnath Darekar who is supporting farmers’ children here – they have shown what can be achieved. Because of such examples, youth from ordinary farming families have gained the strength to shape their dreams.”
Actress Prarthana Behere said, “Whenever I travel to other states or abroad, I hardly see Marathi entrepreneurs. It used to be said that Marathi people cannot run businesses or industries. But today, I feel proud of being a Marathi. There is a different kind of positive energy here today.”
Navnath Darekar said, “While working in the digital era, as part of our social responsibility, we started providing free computer and software training to farmers’ children. During this period, many farmer-parents expressed their feelings, which assured us that we are doing the right thing. In the coming times, we will continue to try and extend help to even more farmers’ children.”
Prashant Darekar said, “Navnath completed his school education in a village in Ahmednagar district. Later, he came to Pune, worked hard, created his own identity, and earned recognition. With the feeling that we owe to society, he implemented this innovative initiative of providing free technology training to farmers’ children. This has become a strong support for thousands of families. I wish that his journey continues successfully in the same spirit.”
On this occasion, successful students were honored with various awards. The program was anchored by Pratibha Patil.
