260TH AMC ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS: WALKATHON AND CYCLOTHON ORGANIZED AT AFMC PUNE

AFMC, Pune had organized a Walkathon and Cyclothon on 29 Mar 2024 as a part of the ongoing celebrations to commemorate the 260th Anniversary (Raising Day) of the Army Medical Corps. The Army Medical Corps celebrates its raising day every year on 3rd April.

The event was flagged off by Lt Gen Ajai Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, GOC-in-C Southern Command. Lt Gen Narendra Kotwal, AVSM, SM, VSM, Director & Commandant, AFMC, Maj Gen Vijay V Joshi, VSM, MG (Med), Southern Command, Maj Gen PK Sharma, Commandant, AICTS, Maj Gen Giriraj Singh, Dean & Deputy Commandant, AFMC, Maj Gen B Nambiar, SM, VSM, Commandant, Command Hospital (Southern Command), Pune and Commandants of other Armed Forces Medical Services units in Pune Kirkee complex were present on the occassion. Senior serving and retired dignitaries of the AFMS were also present on the occasion. Over 700 individuals including serving officers, veterans, their families, medical and nursing cadets actively participated in the event. The GOC-in C congratulated the AFMS fraternity for their glorious history of serving the armed forces and the country and  encouraged one and all to take up sports, physical fitness and exercise as an essential part of holistic wellbeing.
