MOVIE SAM BAHADUR IS A DEPLORABLE ATTEMPT TO MALIGN NATIONAL LEADERS
Congress State Unit Spokesman Gopaldada Tiwari protests against false portrayal of national leaders as weak leaders and characterless persons, demands ban
Pune :- Congress State Unit spokesman Gopaldada Tiwari has protested against maligning the image of former Prime Ministers Smt Indira Ji Gandhi and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru through Vicky Kaushal-starrer Bollywood movie Sam Bahadur directed by Meghna Gulzar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala and demanded ban on it.
Tiwari said the film is a deplorable attempt to malign the image of former Prime Ministers Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Smt Indira Gandhi and to falsely portray them as weak, indecisive leaders and characterless persons.
He said, “In fact, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was the first Prime Minister of Independent India and played a vital role in building India as an independent, sovereign, democratic nation. Smt Gandhi too was a strong leader who made India and self reliant and powerful country. She had displayed exemplary courage in taking decisions with far reaching consequences like nationalising the banks, engineering vertical split of Pakistan through war for creation of Bangla Desh and implementing welfare programmes like green revolution. However, the movie perversely portrays both leaders in bad light.”
Tiwari said the movie falsely depicts exaggerated and irrelevant scenes to create doubts about the decision making ability and character of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Smt Indira Ji Gandhi.
He said, “Baseless incidents relating to the national leaders of Congress who made invaluable contributions in national building have been intentionally inserted in the propagandist and unrealistic movie with the motive of creating a false impression about them. The movie which is totally devoid of real facts is a display of tendency to hate the Nehru-Gandhi family by portraying false characters which are a figment of imagination.”
Alleging that the movie has been produced with the support of political powers out of bias and hate against the Congress party and its leadership, Tiwari appealed the people to boycott it. He also demanded ban on the movie.
