Amanora YESS Foundation Honours ‘Mavshis’ and ‘Dais’ of Sassoon Hospital
Pune: Patient care is given the highest priority at Sassoon Hospital. The ‘Mavshis’ and ‘Dais’, who play an important role in providing care and support to patients, deserve recognition for their dedicated service, said Dr. Eknath Pawar, Dean of B. J. Medical College and Sassoon Hospital.
The Amanora YESS Foundation (City Group) presented the Late Meera Deshpande Seva Samman Awards to the Mavshis and Dais of Sassoon Hospital. Dr. Pawar was speaking on the occasion. Dr. Yallappa Jadhav, Medical Superintendent; Vivek Kulkarni, Chief Social Officer, City Group; and professors from B. J. Medical College and Sassoon Hospital were also present.
The award comprised ₹11,000 in cash, a saree, a shawl and a memento. Mrs. Gangubai Dhondiba Dalvi, Mrs. Rumila Ravi Shinde, Mrs. Shaila Suresh Said, Mrs. Sunita Ravindra Kamble, Mrs. Gauri Ravindra Gohire and Mrs. Sunita Kailas Gaikwad were honoured for their dedicated and commendable service at Sassoon Hospital.
During the same programme, meritorious students of Sassoon Nursing College — Prachi Balu Chavan, Simran Surendra More, Sayyad Ismiya Javed and Pratiksha Jadhav — were awarded the Meera Deshpande Scholarships. Each scholarship included a certificate and ₹15,000.
The Rural Girls Academy, an initiative of the Amanora YESS Foundation, is also being successfully implemented. Through this initiative, four students have so far gone on to become Class-I officers, doctors and engineers. Every year, approximately 40 girl students are awarded the Meera Deshpande Scholarship.
The Amanora YESS Foundation continues to undertake various initiatives in the fields of healthcare, education, environment and social development. The Foundation remains committed to empowering girls from underprivileged and rural backgrounds by providing them with educational opportunities and helping them build a brighter and self-reliant future.
