‘World Digital Detox Day’ Celebrated with Enthusiasm: A Grand Rally in Pune Spreads the Message of Digital Freedom
Pune: To reconnect human relationships strained due to excessive use of digital devices and to spread awareness about mental health, Zep Foundation and Swan Foundation jointly celebrated World Digital Detox Day (WDDD) across the globe with great enthusiasm today. The global digital wellness movement was marked with various activities across as many as 80 countries.
Since the Governments of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh have officially supported this mission, the movement has gained significant momentum at the national level.
As part of WDDD, a grand rally was organized this morning in Pune, from Shaniwarwada to Shanipar Chowk. Many dignitaries and students participated in large numbers. Among them were Deputy Commissioner of Police Krishikesh Rawale, Pune Municipal Corporation Deputy Commissioner Madhav Jagtap, Zep Foundation President Dr. Rekha Chaudhary, Swan Foundation President Shashikant Kamble, Secretary Prasad Bhopale, along with Aba Gole from Sinhgad Foundation. Students from Anurag Charitable Trust and Haribhai Desai College were also present in huge numbers.
Dr. Rekha Chaudhary, founder of World Digital Detox Day (WDDD), said,
“WDDD is not just an awareness campaign—it is a global responsibility to save humanity. This initiative aims to restore balance and reconnect with the world, which has been disrupted due to the excessive use of gadgets like mobile phones, social media, and computers.”
Starting 26 January 2026, a delegation of 10 members from 80 countries will visit various regions along with WDDD ambassadors to conduct awareness drives. The ‘WDDD 1111 Digital Fasting Formula’ is receiving an overwhelming response internationally. In India, a 10,500 km rally from Kashmir to Kanyakumari across 20 states has been organized to spread awareness.
Shashikant Kamble said,
