Durga Puja Festival Organized by Saptapadi Cultural and Sports Association

A cultural celebration of Heritage and Tradition from 27th September to 2nd October 2025

Pune : Blending modern concepts with age-old traditions, the Saptapadi Cultural and Sports Association is organizing the grand Sharadiya Durga Puja Festival, which aims to bring citizens together from diverse communities through Indian cultural festivities. The event will be held at Safa Banquets, Balewadi High Street, Pune, from 27th September to 2nd October 2025.

This year’s theme is “Heritage Meets Harmony”. The festival will showcase the ancient traditions of Bengali culture along with various cultural performances, presenting a unique blend of social unity and patriotism. This announcement was made at a press conference by Sneha Kundu and Soumitra Kundu, General Secretaries of the Association, along with trustee Shreya Bhanot.

The five-day festival will feature devotional music and dance, mesmerizing performances by artists, cultural programs showcasing India’s diversity, daily bhog and prasad for devotees, exhibitions and stalls, a food court, and several initiatives by different organizations. In addition, socially relevant programs aligned with the association’s vision of environmental awareness will also be presented.

The organizers have ensured a hassle-free and enjoyable experience for all participants, with facilities such as a fully air-conditioned venue, valet parking, wheelchair access for senior citizens and differently-abled individuals, and 24-hour medical assistance. Each day will begin with traditional Durga Puja rituals, including Pushpanjali and other sacred ceremonies.

Speaking about the festival, Sanjay Biswas, President of the Association, said,“Durga Puja is not only about devotion but also reflects social harmony, unity, and cultural heritage. This five-day celebration will combine daily rituals with cultural performances and the delight of traditional Bengali cuisine. Every evening is reserved for cultural programs.”

General Secretaries Sneha Kundu and Soumitra Kundu said,“The highlight of the festival will be the magnificent eco-friendly idol of Goddess Durga. Renowned artists will perform soulful Rabindra Sangeet, and we are confident the program will receive an overwhelming response from citizens. This five-day festival celebrates cultural preservation, unity, devotion, and pride. On behalf of the Association, we extend a heartfelt welcome to all members, well-wishers, and thousands of devotees.”

Trustee Shreya Bhanot said,“Every year, we strive to make the festival more meaningful and inclusive. We want each devotee to feel like an integral part of this celebration and enjoy it to the fullest, which is why we have ensured thoughtful facilities.”

Vice President Joydeep Chatterjee said,“Our aim is not only to celebrate a grand cultural festival but also to support organizations working for environmental sustainability, healthcare, and social development. This way, while celebrating an extraordinary event, we also give back to society.”
