SOLDIERATHON VIJAY RUN

To mark the monumental & thumping victory of Indian Armed Forces over the Western Adversaries in the 1971 War, a Soldierathon Vijay Run was organised by Fitistan – Ek Fit Bharat, a platform created with the purpose of making Bharat fitter, on 17 Dec 23 at College of Military Engineering (CME), Pune.

The main aim of the event was to commemorate and honour the brave warriors who have made the supreme sacrifice for the Nation as part of Vijay Diwas. Lt Gen Ajai Kumar Singh, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, GOC-in-C, Southern Command flagged off the marathon and felicitated the winners of various categories. Lt Gen AK Ramesh, Commandant, College of Military Engineering also attended the event alongwith other dignitaries. The event was conducted in 21 Km, 10 Km & 5 Km categories which saw approximately 7000 participants coming from various parts of the city and elsewhere in the country to take part in this very special event with high energy and vigour. Each participant gained a very enriching and enjoyable experience and also appreciated the pleasant weather and scenic beauty of one of best campuses of the Army which is also the first and only carbon negative garrison of India. Maj (Dr) Surender Poonia, VSM (Retd) Founder of Fitistan- Ek Fit Bharat spearheaded the mega event making it a huge success. Every registered runner was awarded a Fitistan T-Shirt, Goodie Bag, Achiever’s Medal and Race Certificate. Funds from the event were also contributed to the Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre, Kirkee, Pune post the event.
