‘PDFA Youth League’ to be held from December 14 !!
170 teams and 2500 players from more than 40 football club will participate in the league !!
Pune, December 13: 170 teams and about 2500 players from more than 40 football clubs from Pune district will be seen in action in the ‘PDFA Youth League’ organized by R.M. Sports Concepts and Pune District Football Association (PDFA).
Informing about the league in a press conference, Mr. Mandar Tamhane, CEO, Northeast United Football Club and Vice President, PDFA, Mr. Pyarelal Chaudhary, Vice President, PDFA, Mr. Ryesh Mehernosh, President, R.M. Sports Concepts Founder, Mr. Chaitanya Kakode, Partner, R.M. Sports Concepts said that, The Poona District Football Association is thrilled to announce the launch of its new Youth League in partnership with R. M. Sports Concepts. This league is a transformative initiative designed to create a pathway for players and competitive environment from a young age, foster young talent, promote physical fitness, and build a sense of community through the beautiful game.
Talking about the format of this league, they said that, this will be held in a total of 6 groups U7, U9, U11, U13, U15 and U17 years. In all these age groups, along with boys, girls will also participate in each of these age groups. The league will commence from Saturday, 14th December 2024 and the matches will be played for five consecutive months.
The knockout round of this league will be held in May 2025 at the Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi. These matches will be broadcasted live on India Khelo Football (IKF), our official scouting partner. The best performing players in this league will also get a chance to play in the India Khelo Football Zonal Finals. Scout officials will be present and observe the entire league to evaluate the performance of these players for selection.
To ensure the convenience of all the boys and girls, the league matches will be held on Saturdays and Sundays of every week. The matches will be played at the following grounds- Playzen-Mango T-World (Chandni Chowk), Matchday Arena (Wakad), Sportzee Arena (Rahatni), Bharati Vidyapeeth (Katraj).
The Under-7 category will feature 3-a-side matches, the Under-9 category will feature 5-a-side matches, the Under-11 category will feature 7-a-side matches, the Under-13 category will feature 9-a-side matches and the Under-15 and Under-17 categories will feature Full size 11 players. This format is per AIFF’s blue cubs and AIFF’s youth league.
Trophies and medals will be awarded to the winning teams in all age groups. In addition, in the individual category, best player of the league, best goalkeeper, Golden Boot award for the highest goal scorer, best league player, fair play award, best coach award and best player for each match. In addition, each player in the league will also be given a certificate of participation.
