COURSE COMPLETION CEREMONY OF MARINE ENGINEERING SPECIALISATION COURSE
28 officers, comprising 14 from the Indian Navy and international trainees from Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Tanzania, Ghana, Bangladesh, and Cameroon successfully completed Marine Engineering Specialisation Course (MESC) at INS Shivaji, Lonavla on 28 Jun 25. Vice Admiral Sanjay Sadhu, AVSM, NM, Programme Director, Advanced Technology Vessel Project (ATVP) was the Chief Guest for the Course Completion Ceremony.

As part of the course curriculum, the officers underwent hands on skill training and watch keeping onboard various warships. The trainees also undertook Marine Engineering Projects designed to equip them with technical skills & expertise in various operations and maintenance of Marine Engineering equipment.
During the ceremonial parade, awards were presented to officers excelling in various fields. Lt Abhinav Singh Rawat was awarded the ‘Best All-Round Officer’ and ‘Best Sportsperson’ trophy. Lt Indraneel Banerji bagged the trophy for ‘First in Engine Room Watchkeeping’. ‘Best International Officer Trainee’ was awarded to Lt Cdr MD Abu Sufian of Bangladesh Navy.
The successful completion of the MESC underscores INS Shivaji’s commitment to producing technically proficient and globally competent marine engineers. The event not only enhances naval operational capabilities but also fosters training collaboration with friendly foreign countries
