MOC Cancer Care and Research Centre Launches Its 5th Centre in Pune at Baner
Pune : Strengthening its position as one of India’s fastest-growing cancer care networks, M | O | C Cancer Care and Research Centre has inaugurated its fifth centre in Pune, located in Baner. This latest addition marks a significant milestone in MOC’s mission to expand its innovative, community-based model of cancer care, designed to make quality oncology services more accessible and patient-centric across the country.
The new Baner centre follows the successful operations of centers in Shivajinagar Pimpri-Chinchwad, Swargate and Kalyani Nagar in Pune. Designed to bring affordable cancer care in state-of-the-art treatment facilities and most importantly- closer to patients’ homes, M|O|C aims to reduce delays in treatment, promote treatment adherence and ease the cost burden on patients and their families. The inauguration was hosted by a team of oncologists & hemato-oncologists namely- Dr Liza Bulsara, Dr Mangesh Mekha, Dr Nikhil Shirsi, Dr Reshma Puranik, Dr Shweta Lunkad and the management team of MOC.
Cancer is emerging as a major public health concern in India, with cases rising rapidly due to multiple factors like genetic, environmental, and lifestyle. The cancer cases are increasing in Pune and its periphery year after year. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the estimated number of cancer cases in India was more than 14 lakhs in 2023, with projections indicating a rise to 2.98 million by 2025, highlighting the urgency of addressing this growing health crisis
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Tushar Patil, senior cancer physician at MOC Baner stated, “With each new cancer centre we open, we strive to make the journey of cancer patients in India more convenient and accessible.”
Dr. Patil further added, “M|O|C Baner will offer comprehensive solid organ and hematological cancer care including chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, as well as advanced treatments such as Molecular and Precision Oncology, Cellular Therapy and Bone Marrow Transplant. Our focus is on personalized care, with home care facilities also available to support patients throughout their treatment journey.”
