Inauguration of the DHR AFMS Health Technology Assessment Resource Centre

In a landmark advancement towards transparent and evidence based informed decision making in the field of healthcare, Health Technology Assessment Resource Centre        (HTA-RC) under Department of Health Research (DHR), HTAIn, MoHFW, GoI, was inaugurated at Department of Community Medicine, Armed Forces Medical College, Pune on 18 Sep 2024 by Lt Gen Daljit Singh, AVSM, VSM, PHS, DGAFMS & Senior Colonel Commandant, AMC.

The occasion was graced by Lt Gen Sandeep Thareja, SM, VSM**, Director & Commandant, AFMC, Maj Gen Giriraj Singh, Dean & Deputy Commandant, AFMC, Pune  and other senior dignitaries of the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS).

Growing healthcare challenges and public health concerns warrant a dynamic approach in decision making, keeping pace with technological advancements for better healthcare delivery. The DHR HTA Resource Centre at AFMC will be a technical partner and resource hub of DHR not only the AFMS but the entire nation.

The center will facilitate assessment of evolving health technologies in the domains of clinical efficacy, cost effectiveness, social, legal and ethical issues. It will also help in promoting informed policy decision making and prioritize introduction of new technologies for healthcare delivery.
