Aagaman’ Named BestShort Film at 16th Pune Short Film Festival

Pune, July 7 (Correspondent) – At the 16th Pune Short Film Festival 2026 organized by the ‘Marathi Chitrapat Parivar’ (Marathi Film Family) to showcase budding artists.The short film Aagaman was adjudged the Best Short Film. Meanwhile, Finger Ring received the award for Best Direction, and Kasra was selected for Best Screenplay.
The awards ceremony for the festival, held at the Balasaheb Thackeray Cartoon Art Gallery auditorium in Pune, was conducted at the hands of veteran writer and journalist Subhashchandra Jadhav, renowned film director-producer Nikhil Mittal and Senior Film writer Kalpana Khare. Festival Director Yogesh Baraskar was present on the occasion. The festival featured the screening of over one hundred short films from various countries.
Hirva Son was named the Best Marathi Short Film, while Stanley received the award for Best Marathi Direction for the film Shadow. Last Bloom was selected for the Best Marathi Screenplay award. Innocent Travel, directed by Rajiv Malik, was recognized for Best International Direction, while * Medula Jones* was selected as the Best International Short Film. Kalyug was named the Best Animation Film, while Jyoti received the award for Best Animation Direction; Anant Keni received the Best Screenplay award for this film. Page Bound received the award for Best Student Short Film, while the award for Best Student Direction went to Forgotten Notes. , Lady Bugs was selected for the Best Animation Screenplay award. In the documentary categories, the short film * Ripples of Ganga* was named the Best Short Documentary, while Karan Wazirani was selected as the Best Documentary Director for Divine Pain and Sohanlal was also awarded in same category for Wheels of kodachari film. For the short film *Akhadachya Mahinyat, Bhagyashree Mote was chosen as the Best Experimental Director. *The Intruder* was selected as the Best Indian Short Film.
