Tata Technologies inaugurates IBT 3.0 STEM lab
Tata Technologies vision of engineering a better world embodies its commitment to promote and foster an enabling environment for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education in schools. In line with its commitment, Tata Technologies inaugurated its 4th IBT (Integrated Basic Training) 3.0 STEM lab in collaboration with STARS (Skills Training for Advancement for Rural Societies) Forum as part of its CSR project. The STARS Forum promotes and scales up the educational program of Vigyan Ashram, focusing on introducing vocational education from Grades V to X, emphasizing “learning by doing”, in line with the new education policy (NEP).
This initiative holds great significance for Tata Technologies, as it substantially impacts the lives of children, providing them access to IBT labs and helping them to learn and apply science and technology in their learning and DIY life projects. Through the IBT Program by Tata Technologies, a total of 799 children from low-income rural families have already benefited, with an additional 78 students set to benefit. The integration of the IBT 3.0 STEM lab, showcases advanced technologies like 3D printing, sensor-based electronics, and robotics, along with a number of engineering and agricultural tools enhancing the students’ learning experiences. This program also provides trained mentors and experiment planners for effective learning.
The IBT 3.0 STEM lab was inaugurated by Mr. Sujit Dixit, Head of Corporate Sustainability and Internal Audit at Tata Technologies in the presence of Mr. Yogesh Kulkarni, Director Vigyan Ashram and Mr. Pradeep Walse Patil, Vice Chairman, Bhimashankar SSKL along with community guests. Tata Technologies is the financial partner of the IBT Program and has collaborated with three schools since the FY 2022-23. The IBT labs provide an avenue for students to experience the practical application of their classroom learning, particularly in the focus areas of Engineering, Energy-Environment, Agriculture, and Home and Health.
