International Senior Citizens Day Celebrated at Punyadham Ashram

Pune  : Punyadham Ashram celebrated International Senior Citizens Day on 1st October with warmth, enthusiasm and affection, bringing together senior citizens, distinguished guests, well-wishers and community members.

The programme was graced by R. B. Suryawanshi, Vice Chairman, Shirke Group, as the Chief Guest, and Shyam Agarwal, Founder and Chief Editor, Aaj Ka Anand, as the Guest of Honour.The celebration began with a soulful Ganesh Vandana through a graceful Kathak performance by renowned dancer Anuradha Thorat.CA Sadananda Shetty, President, Punyadham Trust, welcomed the gathering and highlighted Punyadham’s various charitable and social initiatives.

The programme featured a melodious bhajan by Bhagwandas Ahuja, a musical presentation by senior citizens from Dignity Foundation, Pune, and a soulful flute performance by Gurang, a brave soldier from the Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre.

Dr. Vijay Sethiya shared valuable insights on maintaining physical and mental well-being during the senior years. The audience also enjoyed an entertaining session by internationally renowned mind reader and magician Bhupesh Dave.

Addressing the gathering, Shyam Agarwal spoke about the importance of living happily in old age, while R. B. Suryawanshi appreciated Punyadham’s work for senior citizens and emphasized that staying active and meaningfully engaged is key to a healthy life.

In her special message, Maa Krishna Kashyap, Chairperson, Punyadham Ashram encouraged everyone to lead a peaceful, worry-free and meaningful life with positivity, compassion, spirituality and gratitude.The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Trustee Ganesh Kamthe and was ably anchored by Mahesh Mirani.Around 200 people attended the celebration, which concluded with Prasadam for all.

The event beautifully reflected Punyadham Ashram’s commitment to honouring senior citizens and creating a caring, respectful and joyful environment for them.
