SportsSkill Launches Its First Physical High-Performance Centre in Pune

Pune : SportsSkill, the sports-tech and athlete development platform behind the Chance2Sports Foundation, today took its technology off the screen and onto the court. It opened SportsSkill X, its first physical high-performance centre, on the 16th floor of Infinity Business Park, Thube Park, Pune. Set on the building’s 16th floor, with uninterrupted views across the city skyline, SportsSkill X is among the highest squash facilities in India and Asia.

The centre was inaugurated by Geoff Davenport, seven-time World Masters Squash Champion from Australia and one of the most accomplished players in World Masters history, who attended as Guest of Honour. The other guest of honour being Rishad Pandole, who is 6-time national squash champion, and an acclaimed businessman. They were joined by co-founders Abhinav Sinha and Chetan Desai, along with other athletes, coaches, parents, and members of Pune’s sporting and business community.

Why a sports-tech platform is building a court.

Most sports-tech in India stays on the phone: apps that track, rank or book. SportsSkill is taking the more inclusive route. Its app has spent the past few years logging training, match footage and progress for athletes across 10–12 cities. SportsSkill X gives that data a physical home, where it can be acted on every day by coaches, physios and the athletes themselves.

The logic is simple. An app can tell a player what to fix; a high-performance centre is where they actually fix it. With both under one brand, SportsSkill closes the loop between measurement and training, and becomes one of the few Indian sports-tech platforms to run its own phygital model, from first assessment on the app to elite training on court.

The timing matters too. With squash set to make its Olympic debut at Los Angeles 2028, Indian players need world-class training at home, not only abroad. SportsSkill X is built for that moment, sitting, in the words of its tagline, Above the City. Beyond the Game.

Where talent meets technology

SportsSkill X is designed as a complete performance ecosystem rather than a court for hire. It is built on four pillars: Technology, Expertise, Performance and Opportunity. Alongside its new world-class squash courts and other sports facilities, the centre houses a strength and conditioning zone, a video and data analysis suite, and a dedicated recovery area.

Every court session at SportsSkill X feeds back into the SportsSkill app, which more than 300 active users already use to log training, upload match footage and receive personalised feedback. Video and performance data captured at the centre will shape each player’s plan, so development is measured, not guessed. The facility will also serve as a testing ground for new features on the platform.

Coaching at the centre is powered by Rolling Nicks Champions Gurukul, the coaching system led by Abhinav Sinha, a former Asian Junior and World Junior Championship player and two-time national champion in the Coaches’ Category. Players will train across technique, fitness, nutrition and mental conditioning, with Fit2Sport on board as Performance Partner.

A homecoming at Thube Park

The address carries a story. Thube Park is where Sinha’s earlier initiative, Rolling Nicks Sports Foundation, opened Pune’s first free squash court, along with his friend and squash enthusiast Yogesh Thube, giving hundreds of the city’s children their first racquet. Nearly a decade later, the same neighbourhood is home to one of Asia’s most ambitious sports facilities.

That journey has already produced results. Athletes from the SportsSkill and Chance2Sports system have won multiple national titles, held National Rank 1 in Girls U-15 and U-17 and Rank 2 in Girls U-19, and represented India at the Asian Junior and World Junior Championships. Pune’s Anika Dubey, who joined the programme at age 10, recently won silver at the Asian Junior Squash Championships.

Built for scale, open to merit.

SportsSkill X will also serve as the high-performance base for the Chance2Sports Foundation’s NextGen Super 30 mission, a five-year, ₹25 crore initiative to assess nearly 3,000 children from diverse backgrounds and give 300 of them elite training, regardless of their ability to pay. The foundation’s goal is not only to produce India’s first World Junior Squash gold medalist but to create the necessary funnel for further champions.

Abhinav Sinha, Co-founder, SportsSkill and Chance2Sports, said, “I grew up in a city without a single squash academy. Everything I have built since has been about making sure the next talented child doesn’t hit that wall. SportsSkill X is the facility I wish I’d had at 12. Now a child from Pune, Kalamb or Assam can train in a space that matches anything in the world, with the data and coaching to back it up.”

Chetan Desai, Co-founder, SportsSkill and Chance2Sports, said, “We started as a technology platform because we believed data could find and grow talent faster. But data alone doesn’t build a champion. You need the court, the coach and the recovery room too. SportsSkill X is where our technology meets the real world. Merit, not money, will decide who walks onto these courts, and technology will decide how far they go.”

Geoff Davenport, Seven-Time World Masters Squash Champion, said, “I have played squash in many countries over many decades, and I have rarely seen a court with a view like this. But what impresses me more is what happens to it. The combination of coaching, sports science and data here is world-class. With squash heading to the Olympics, India has the talent to be a real force, and centres like SportsSkill X are how that talent gets there.”

SportsSkill X is located on the 16th floor, Infinity Business Park, Thube Park, Pune.
