Complex redevelopment process is now just a WhatsApp chat away

‘Redevelopment Guru’ to simplify housing society redevelopment through WhatsApp

To provide free, source-backed answers to help society members make informed redevelopment decisions

Pune, September 2, 2026: Dreams Redeveloped, a Pune-based redevelopment advisory firm, has unveiled ‘Redevelopment Guru’, a WhatsApp-based assistant designed to provide housing society members with quick, source-backed answers to questions related to redevelopment. The initiative aims to address one of the biggest challenges faced by societies undertaking redevelopment, which is the information gap between society members and developers.

The idea grew out of founder CA S. Lakshminarayanan’s own experience as Chairman of his housing society in Pune, going through its redevelopment, when a member once asked him a question he did not have a ready answer to.

“Redevelopment is often a once-in-a-lifetime decision for a housing society, while developers deal with such projects every day. Members need clarity on legal, financial, architectural and regulatory matters before they can take informed decisions. Redevelopment Guru is our attempt to put credible, verifiable information directly in the hands of society members, in a format that is simple and accessible,” said CA S. Lakshminarayanan, Founder, Dreams Redeveloped.

Chartered Accountant (CA) by qualification, Lakshminarayanan is an MBA from the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad, and has worked for over 8 years at India’s stock and power exchanges.

Redevelopment Guru has been developed particularly keeping in mind senior citizens and members for whom their home represents a substantial portion of their lifetime assets. Members can ask questions on redevelopment directly through WhatsApp and receive answers that are traced to verifiable sources, including RERA records, Inspector General of Registration (IGR) title history and relevant regulations. The assistant also helps members identify the questions they should raise with developers, society committees and professional consultants.

The service is deliberately designed around WhatsApp, an application already familiar to a large number of housing society members, including senior citizens. To use the service, a member simply sends “Guru” to the WhatsApp number  9699653592  and asks a redevelopment-related question. Query resolution is currently being offered free of charge.

According to Dreams Redeveloped, the objective of Redevelopment Guru is not to promise faster paperwork but faster clarity. By providing members with accessible information before meetings and discussions, the platform aims to reduce dependence on second-hand opinions and help societies participate more confidently in the redevelopment process.

Founded in 2020 by CA S. Lakshminarayanan, Dreams Redeveloped has worked with 400+ housing societies and completed 125 feasibility reports, with 24 projects formally signed. Its network currently includes 112 developers and more than 40 allied consultants, including architects and legal and redevelopment specialists. The firm presently operates across Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.

Paid modules covering feasibility reports, Special General Meeting (SGM) vetting, agreement vetting and developer vetting are under development.

Dreams Redeveloped plans to initially expand Redevelopment Guru and its associated services across Maharashtra, with a web application for paid services and a dedicated mobile application planned subsequently.
